After you apply for this card and get approved, you will receive it in the mail around 10 business days after you’re approved.

Once you have received your new Credit One Bank American Express Card in the mail, the next step is to activate it, as you will not be able to make transactions on the card until you do so. You can only activate Credit One Bank cards over the phone. To do this, you call customer service at the toll-free activation number (1-877-825-3242) printed on the sticker affixed to your new card within 14 days after you receive your card.

If you fail to activate your card within 14 days after you receive it, Credit One may close your account, and you will have to re-apply for a new card.

To ensure security, Credit One recommends calling from the phone number listed on your application, and you will have to provide that number to customer service anyway if you call from a different phone.

When you call, enter your 16-digit credit card number. Since the card still needs to be activated, the call will automatically route to Credit One card activation menu. You can either use the voice-automated system or connect to a customer service representative. You will then need to provide your birth date, Social Security number and the card’s three-digit security code.

Once your new card is activated, it will be immediately available for use.
