For those of you that have never heard of the US Bank Altitude Card, you should know who it is designed for. Specifically, for those with a US Bank credit card, miles and points on said credit card, and a smartphone capable of mobile payment, this card could work for you as a solid benefit.

What’s the catch?

While this card has a huge fee of $400, $325 of those dollars are reimbursed through travel credit. In essence, the annual fee of this card is much closer to $75 as opposed to the larger sum of $400.

Accessibilities

All US Bank Altitude Reserve card holders gain Priority Pass membership. Through this membership, all cardholders will receive 4 free lounge visits per year for themselves and a single guest. Upon the 4th free visit, cardholders will be charged a discounted $27 per person per visit. While only having 4 passes may seem like a shortage, the relaxation in comfort with Priority Pass should make you feel right at home for your flight. You will find most of these Priority Pass lounges at Southwest airlines, but rewards can be redeemed with any airline.

You will also receive credit that will reimburse you for theGlobal Entry ($100) or TSA PreCheck ($85) application fees. This can reassure convenience for cardholders of the US Bank Altitude card, as they won’t be needing to take out their toiletries, computers, or excessive electronics. In fact, they won’t even need to take off their shoes, showing just how easy it is to have this card.

Rewards Rate

This card has a few outstanding earnings rates, all of which range from 3x-1x the points. This card’s earnings for rewards rate are as follows:

  • 3x the points on travel purchases
  • 3x the points on mobile wallet purchases (such as Apple Pay or Samsung Pay)
  • 1x the points on all other purchases

With how easy these reward rates are, it is easy to justify how valuable this card can be for frequent flyers as well as smartphone users.

Takeaways

Overall, if you are someone with a smartphone that is into using your phone’s wallet features, we recommend this card. If you are someone that travels frequently and wants to get the best travel experience with comforting relaxation offered, before, during, and after your flights, we recommend this card. While the $400 annual fee is unquestionably large, it is very easy to make this card pay for the fee by using the proper credits offered by it. We recommend this card to all frequent flyers as well as smartphone users that want to get the most cash back they possibly can.
