The Citi Double Cash is a great credit card for people that are looking for a reliable credit line that helps them save via a lucrative cash back rewards program. This card is unique because it offers a two-tiered reward system. You earn 1% cash back on all purchases, and an additional 1% when you pay off your credit balance on time. You can earn the extra 1% the sooner you pay your credit card bill. For responsible credit card users, this means 2% cash back on purchases. Is there a minimum redemption amount for the Citi Double Cash card?

Yes, this card comes with a $25 minimum redemption amount. This means that you have to spend a minimum of $1,250 (with a 2% cash back rate) through this card before being able to redeem your rewards. In terms of redemption, you can:

  1. Request a check for at least $25 up to the total cash rewards balance at the time you redeem.
  2. Redeem for a statement credit to your Card Account for at least $25 up to the total cash rewards balance at the time you redeem.
  3. Redeem for a credit to your linked Citi savings or checking account or to a checking account.
  4. Convert your cash rewards to ThankYou Points (ThankYou Points are Citi’s rewards points, which can be spent on gift cards and travel benefits).

The $25 minimum is a drawback that you need to consider if you seek rewards that you can use quickly. While this credit card does offer higher than average rewards rates, it can be problematic for users wanting to spend their rewards on smaller daily purchases.
