Overview

The short answer is yes, you can use your Citi Double Cash or any cashback you get on Citi Entertainment purchases as long as you own a Citi credit card. You can save on many exclusive concert and event tickets with the cashback you get by spending on your everyday purchases. Citi Entertainment and Citi credit cards come with numerous benefits that can assist you in all aspects of life.

What is Citi Entertainment?

Citi Entertainment is an entertainment access program. You can get special access to purchase tickets to events, including presale tickets and exclusive experiences to concerts, sporting events, dining experiences, and more. You must have a Citi credit or debit card to purchase tickets and access complimentary offers. All Citi cards are eligible for this service, and you can stay on top of all upcoming events by signing up for weekly emails.

Most of the time, a passcode is required to access certain events. When you click to purchase an event and it redirects you to a different site, the passcode to purchase is usually the first 6 digits of your Citi credit card. This is to prevent people without Citi credit cards getting access to cardholder-exclusive events.

There are no fees associated with Citi Entertainment. There is neither a fee to access Citi Entertainment nor an extra fee when purchasing tickets. The ticketing agency may charge a standard processing fee, but there are no extra costs for you from Citi’s end.

Programs Offered

Citi offers many different ticket sale programs:

  • Presale - You get the opportunity to purchase specific concert tour or other events for a limited time before they go on sale for the general public
  • Preferred Tickets - A number of tickets that have been set aside just for Citi Credit Card users. These tickets are usually available for a limited period of time during the general public sale.
  • Complimentary Tickets - Citi Credit Card users can reserve complimentary tickets for special events and experience through Citi Entertainment. These are offered on a first-come-first-serve basis, and only one complimentary offer can be redeemed every 6 months.
  • VIP Package - The VIP Package is a ticket package that includes additional benefits for cardholders. These benefits could include premium seating, artist merchandise, meet and greet, or special access to hospitality areas within the venue.

Can I use Citi Double Cash?

You can not apply your cashback to Citi Entertainment purchases directly, but you can use your cashback to purchase Citi Entertainment products after redeeming cashback. If you redeem your cashback in the form of a direct deposit, it will go straight into your Citi Account. Then you can just normally purchase using a debit or credit card and you are essentially using the cashback you got on those purchases. Although not directly, you are still saving money on purchases because you have the cashback in your account. You can also earn cashback on Citi Entertainment purchases if you use qualifying Citi credit cards.

Conclusion

Citi Entertainment offers many different types of ticket packages that could give you exclusive access to the next big concert or sporting event. If you get Citi Double Cash you can deposit directly into your account and then use that money to purchase your tickets. You also can get cashback on your Citi Entertainment purchases so you are always saving on your tickets. Citi Entertainment is a unique feature that only Citi cardholders can use and save on.
