How to book someone else's flight with Jetblue miles
If you’re needing to give a family member or friend a free flight, you can easily do so with Jetblue TrueBlue miles. Jetblue offers three great ways for all situations, to which you can redeem your miles for others:
- Jetblue TrueBlue points allow you to book flights for others by heading on to your online user dashboard and redeeming tickets for others. You will have to know the other person’s personal information, preferences, and preferred itinerary to book their ticket.
- If you don’t want to directly redeem miles for someone else, you can instead transfer TrueBlue points to their account. If the other person has a TrueBlue account, you can send them your points for 1.25 cents per point. The maximum limit for this is 30,000 points per transaction and 120,000 per calendar year. If you don't have the preferences and personal information of the person you are trying to give a free flight to, this is the next best option. It’s better to have them redeem points for their liking rather than you guess what they prefer and have it be the wrong choice.
- If you’re looking to give someone else a free trip while accompanying them, the pooling feature of TrueBlue miles may be the best option for you. With Jetblue miles, you can pool your miles together with family or friends for a getaway together. Miles pooling is free and there are no hidden fees applied in this process. You can pool with a minimum of two TrueBlue members and a maximum of seven people. The Pool leader is responsible for redeeming the points and can nominate other members to redeem the pooled points as well. When your family or friends accept your invitation to pool miles, 100% of their points along with yours will go towards the pool. This means that free trips are easier and faster to obtain while enjoying your favorite destinations with your favorite people. Unfortunately, you can’t join multiple pools so it is best to proactively decide who you would be comfortable sharing points with.
Why you should take advantage of TrueBlue miles to book other’s flights
Many airline programs do not allow you to use your miles/points to book on behalf of someone. Jetblue however, is the exception to this and provides the aforementioned methods to which you can ensure that you will be able to satisfactorily give someone else a free flight. From directly booking for them to pooling points to go along, Jetblue’s TrueBlue miles are one of the best options for sharing your points with others.
