The American Express Platinum Card is one of the most elite cards for anyone who travels frequently. With the 5x points received per dollar spent on hotels and flights, users of this card can build up value quickly for continued future use. Additionally, the Platinum Card comes with many other travel perks like $200 of annual credit for airline fees, flight delay insurance, and hotel booking benefits.
One of the best parts of holding the Platinum Card is receiving access to the American Express Global Lounge Collection, or the network of luxury airport lounges exclusive for cardholders. This makes your airline travel much more relaxing and convenient. However, although Amex Platinum used to give cardholders access to the American Airline’s Admirals Club lounges, it no longer has that benefit. Regardless, the Amex Platinum still gives access to many more lounges as well.
Global Lounges Available to American Express Platinum Cardholders
Here’s a quick list of some lounges that Amex Platinum wielders have access to:
When trying to find out whether or not there will be a lounge for you to access at a specific airport, you can simply run a search on the Global Lounge Collection website. There might not always be lounges that you can access, but often you will have a variety of options.
The Centurion Lounges are American Express’s personal network of relaxing airport hubs. They provide soothing spaces to work or rest, and they come with high-speed internet and many more amenities. Not only do Platinum cardholders have access to these, but they can also invite two guests or even their immediate family with no charge. There are Centurion Lounges at most of the major airports across the United States and even one in Hong Kong (HKG).
Priority Pass lounges are also very popular. There are many more domestic airports that have Priority Pass lounges for access. The Delta Sky Clubs offer more limited access; however, as long as you have your Platinum Card and a same-day Delta flight ticket, you can be sure that you will be granted access.
Although the American Express Platinum Card has seen a decrease in lounge perks (like the loss of the Admirals Club), it still grants access to many quality lounges which will make traveling feel more relaxing, more luxurious, and more comfortable overall.
