  • Transferring points to a hotel loyalty program or a partner airline at a 1:1 rate

You can enjoy 50% more value when you redeem through Chase Rewards for Chase Sapphire Reserve, whereas for Chase Sapphire Preferred it is 25% more. Transfer your points to leading airline and hotel loyalty programs at 1 to 1 so for example1,000 Chase Rewards points equals 1,000 partner miles/points.

The transfer partners for Airlines are Aer Lingus, Air France/KLM, British Airways, Emirates, Iberia, JetBlue, SouthWest, United, Virgin Atlantic, and Singapore KrisFlyer.

Whereas, transfer partners for Hotels are Hyatt, Marriott Bonvoy, InterContinental Hotels Group.

  • Gift cards 

You can redeem your points for gift cards from a variety of retailers at a value of 1 cent per point for both Chase Sapphire Reserve as well as for Chase Sapphire Preferred.By this way, you can take advantage of a special promotion in which the points required for gift cards are lower.

This isn't as lucrative as travel, but still, you can earn 1 cent per point for cash for both Chase Sapphire Reserve as well as for Chase Sapphire Preferred which is well below industry standards.

You can use your points to make purchases on Amazon. But it is generally not recommended as the value offered for your points is very low which is only 0.8 cents per point. 

  • Apple rewards

Chase cardholders of the Sapphire Reserve and Sapphire Preferred can also redeem points for Apple products through the Apple Ultimate Rewards Store. Here, points have a solid 1 cent per point value when redeemed this way.
