The HSBC Cash Rewards card is a good choice as an everyday card for those who aren't too interested in complex policies, but just want a steady bonus reward. This card offers an unlimited 1.5% cash back bonus on every purchase you make, but more importantly, it’s most attractive feature is its robust first-year rewards program, which doubles your rewards in the first year without giving them an expiration date. Paired with the $0 annual fee, this makes the HSBC Cash Rewards card attractive. Furthermore, this card also offers travel benefits and shopping benefits, making the card suitable to a wide variety of purchasing needs, perfect for those with a wide variety of needs.

Cash Rewards

In the first year, HBSC doubles the cash back which is a 3% cash back bonus for the first $10,000 of purchases, meaning that if you were to spend $10,000 in the first 12 months, you would earn $300. After the first year, you receive a 1.5% cash back bonus for every purchase you make with this card without limit. And best of all, the cash back rewards do not expire!

Redeeming your cash rewards

There are many options to redeem your cash. You can opt to receive your cash back as credit on your statement, allowing you to avoid worrying about transacting the money. You may also choose to redeem your cash rewards as a deposit directly into your HSBC account, or choose to donate your cash back to charities of your choice. These three options give you the full value for the rewards, but there are still other possibilities that limit the full potential of your points.Cardholders can choose to redeem their rewards on travel, merchandise or gift cards or application fees for the TSA Precheck or Global Entry program. But when you do that, you lose part of the value of your rewards as commission.

Other benefits

The HSBC Cash Rewards card comes with other attractive benefits. For the first 12 months, there is no intro purchase APR or intro balance transfer APR. In order to maximize your profit and your rewards, larger purchases should be made during this period, but be aware of the cap of $10,000. After the first year, HSBC will charge 12.99%, 16.99% or 22.99% of both the purchase APR and balance transfer APR, based on your credit worthiness.

Travel insurance is another perk that comes with this card. It covers MasterRental Coverage which provides protections for the damage and theft of the rental cars and Mastercard Airport Concierge which means you can enjoy a 15% discount on Airport Meet and Greet service. You may also receive 10% off at onefinestay when you book one of the rental properties in some cities like New York, London and Paris.

Other benefits include a ShopRunner membership for unlimited, free 2-day and free return shipping, $5 off on orders over $25 for delivery of food, drinks or groceries from Postmates, discounts to select golf courses, complimentary grounds passes for PGA Tournaments and private lessons with a PGA Tour professional with Priceless.

Cardholders also benefit from no annual fee or sign-up fee, allowing them to earn their cash back reward as soon as they open their account.

Conclusion

The HSBC Cash Rewards is a perfect card for people who only want a steady rate of bonus without too many strings attached. During the first year, a 3% cash back bonus is offered to the first $10,000 of purchase, and after that you receive 1.5% cash back bonus rewards. And these rewards never expire. No annual fee or signup fee makes this card even more attractive, and the robust benefits on travel, and other amenities is a big plus. If you are a person who values steady ongoing rewards, then the HSBC Cash Rewards card may be right for you.
